#humanity

Exhausted

Annoyed

Concerned

Pissed

imageJust a few words I use to describe how I feel after watching the news for more than five seconds.

Some days I can’t even bring myself to be on any social media platforms because my feed seems to be full of attacks from all sides.

I sit speechless as I watch what’s going on in the world.

It doesn’t even matter what I’m watching…..from local news to CNN to FOX News to MSNBC.

Every station could be airing the same exact story, but yet their outlooks are different.

Which is exactly the way it should be, based on the demographics of their viewers…..right?

So why are we getting our panties in a wad because we disagree with someone else’s opinion??

My reality ~

I’m scared every time my oldest son comes home late.  Not just because I’m a Mom and I worry, but because I don’t want him to be a statistic for the BLM movement.

I worry that my children are growing up in a time where there is no regard for human life. It’s not the violence in video games and movies that’s desensitizing our children. It’s a lack of a moral compass. And I believe that begins at home.

I’m appalled that there are people targeting and killing police officers. Are you fucking kidding me? All in the name of a movement that was started because minorities are being killed in what should be called “questionable” situations…. Here’s the deal: there are bad apples everyfuckingwhere. You can’t just pick Joe Blow off the street and decide it’s their day to die. This goes both ways people.

I pray. I pray because I believe in its power.  Does that mean I think less of those who aren’t religious? Nope.  It’s not my place to push my beliefs on you nor is it your place to discredit mine.

I can’t stand the fact that our government won’t put the pettiness aside and actually work together to get shit done. Republican or Democrat. I’m not saying to sit at the table, holding hands all while singing kumbaya. But don’t you realize the whole world is watching and we are the butt of the joke?

We are fighting against humanity all day every day.

So where do we draw the line?

How do we change the clusterfuck we’ve gotten ourselves into?

We need to wake up.

Know your history and strive to do better than your ancestors.

Treat everyone with the respect you demand for yourself.

Raise your children to know they have to work hard in order to get ahead.

My reality may be different from yours. But it doesn’t make it more or less important.

Be kind.

Laugh more.

Love hard ~ without conditions

~ and maybe….just maybe we can all seem a little more “human” to each other

I would be scared for your son as well. This world has changed so much these past few years, but especially this past year. I also do not understand why it is this way, but it is. Now all we can do is pray for things to get better, as you do.

I agree. Fear is all around us. The only thing we can do is protect ourselves and our family….xo ~ D

You can’t live your life in fear. The best thing you can do is take on the world unafraid while living your life to the fullest.

I used to watch/read the news every day, sometimes more than once. I worried about everything so much. I cut back to about once a week and it’s helped. I know what’s gooing on, I still worry, but I’m not constantly consumed like I was. I did the same thing with Facebook as well…I hardly ever scan my personal feed anymore. The world is crazy.
